To capitalise on the popularity of wearables and offer a broad user base an easy way to measure heart rate and rhythm via smartwatch.
Approach
FibriCheck collaborated with Samsung to build an app that was not only compatible with the Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 but transformed them into fully certified, approved medical devices. FibriCheck was selected on the strength of its regulatory portfolio, having obtained approval in the US, Australia and Europe.
Outcome
Within a month of launch, several thousand users took up an introductory offer to download the app and detect potential rhythm disorders while wearing their watch. FibriCheck analyses the raw signals from the PPG sensor built into almost every wearable, so it integrates across devices and platforms, bringing mHealth to a broader audience.
