How does it work?
Project outline:At the Medical University of Graz, FibriCheck is used in a post-ablation monitoring pathway.
Patients use FibriCheck 3 times per day and whenever experiencing symptoms in the first week after an ablation procedure. The data of FibriCheck’s PPG-measurements are automatically shared with clinicians through a telemedicine portal in order to support clinical decision making.
The results of PPG-rhythm monitoring with FibriCheck were closely associated with the clinically established ECG-documented long-term outcomes and resulted in clinical interventions in 24% of patients. This included amiodarone in 8%, class I antiarrhythmic drugs in 7%, cardioversion in 5%, and the reduction of antiarrhythmic drugs due to symptomatic bradycardia in 3% of patients.Thanks to the high availability and easy scalability of PPG rhythm monitoring, a diagnostic and prognostic gap within the blanking period may be closed and patients may be more actively involved with their treatment.
