Objective
To ensure continuity of care for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic through a remote monitoring and teleconsultation approach.
Approach
The Europe-wide TeleCheck-AF project was developed by FibriCheck with clinician-scientist Dr Dominik Linz and Biosense Webster to provide an efficient, scalable pathway that could be easily adopted and replicated across clinics, giving patients a safe solution and physicians reliable real-time data.
Outcome
Implemented in over 40 clinics across Europe and reaching 3,253 patients, TeleCheck-AF is a powerful demonstration of digital transformation in delivering high-quality care while reducing burden on health systems. More than half of the AF episodes detected were asymptomatic, showing added value in general diagnostic pathways, and many participating centres expect to keep using the approach for follow-up.
