How does it work?
This collaboration between Daiichi Sankyo, National Health Tech, Capitol Medicare and FibriCheck is aimed at enabling the detection and monitoring of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation (AF) in at-risk patients by providing an end-to-end digital pathway.
Patients use FibriCheck to measure their heart rate and heart rhythm, after which they are followed up within the primary care network (PCN). If AF is detected, the patient will receive a wearable electrocardiogram monitor for further follow-up and diagnosis, which enables patients to receive the right treatments at the appropriate time. With the help of this pathway, the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of care can be improved, while also giving patients more control over their health and supporting the NHS long term plan of preventing cardiovascular events.
This pathway was implemented in 5 PCN’s in the UK, such as East Cornwall, where an impressive 96.8% of patients where FibriCheck detected AF were confirmed with ECG.
