Empowering people to follow up on their heart health with healthcare insurer Helan

Project outline: Empowering people to measure their heart rhythm in real-time whenever and wherever they want is an important step in the battle against strokes caused by cardiac arrhythmias.

By offering the free use of FibriCheck for a year through a reimbursement, Belgian health insurer Helan provides their members with remote heart health assessments. These assessments include measurements of heart rate and heart rhythm which can be used for the early detection and efficient monitoring of heart rhythm disorders. Besides these measurements, Helan members can also log their blood pressure and the symptoms they are experiencing, together with their severity. Being able to check their heart health provides Helan members who experience symptoms with peace of mind. For other Helan members without symptoms, FibriCheck detected cases of atrial fibrillation which allowed for early intervention.
