FibriCheck and patientMpower join forces to tackle cardiovascular disease

Digital health innovators FibriCheck and patientMpower are joining forces to help transform the management of cardiovascular conditions, thereby saving lives, reducing health inequalities and easing pressure on the healthcare system. 

A joint approach to improve the outcomes of cardiac conditions 

This partnership will see the integration of FibriCheck’s medically certified technology with patientMpower’s virtual care solution, enabling remote monitoring of key cardiac health indicators, including heart rhythm, heart rate, blood pressure and weight. FibriCheck’s heart health assessments are user-friendly and can be performed with patients’ own smartphone devices. Physicians receive analysed insights into the measurements and risk factors of their patients, which supports them in clinical decision making. For patients with cardiovascular conditions such as atrial fibrillation or heart failure this technology provides the ability to access clinical-grade monitoring at home, ensuring potential health complications can be detected and managed quickly.

The aim of this partnership is to help transform the management of cardiovascular disease. As cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death globally, supporting a new approach to care has huge potential to save lives and reduce pressure on healthcare services. Whilst each technology alone has previously demonstrated improved outcomes in patients with particular heart conditions, the partnership will enable a more integrated approach to digital care. 

With the partnership now in effect, the initial focus of implementation will be clinical centres in Ireland. There, the recently published Digital Health Framework for Ireland details a clear plan to harness digital technology to improve and integrate the delivery of healthcare services.
